United Regional Medical Center

   United Regional Medical Center is a rapidly growing 132-bed health care facility located in Manchester and serves residents of Coffee and surrounding counties.
   Formerly Coffee Medical Center, the facility underwent
a change of ownership in July of 2002. Coffee Medical
Group, an investor group comprised mainly of physicians from Manchester and McMinnville, purchased the hospital and nursing home from the county with the goal of expanding services to provide necessary health care for residents of the region who often had to travel out of area for services.
   The group is in the process of upgrading the facility, adding and improving equipment and expanding services. A major construction project, slated to begin in the spring of 2003, will double the hospital's size.

   United Regional Medical Center (URMC) is currently comprised of a 54-bed general and acute care hospital, a 72-bed nursing home and a specialty clinic staffed by over 25 board certified specialists.

   The hospital offers a 24-hour M.D. staffed emergency room, as well as comprehensive surgical, diagnostic and treatment services. New state-of-the-art mammography, x-ray, CT scanning, ultrasound and laboratory equipment have recently been added at the hospital. New surgical, emergency and nuclear medicine departments are included in the upcoming construction project, as well as a women's health center.

   URMC's specialty clinic, which opened in October 2002, is staffed by specialists in areas including general/vascular surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, opthamology, orthopedics, podiatry, radiology and urology.
   United Regional Medical Center Nursing Home has served
the residents of Coffee and surrounding counties for over 45 years and is licensed to provide both skilled and intermediate care. Services include physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies, and because the facility is hospital-based, many additional services can be accessed by residents without having to leave the campus.
